Buongiorno Terre Siciliane Red Blend Review
Buongiorno Terre Siciliane Red Blend from Candoni Green is an organic Sicilian red wine made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. It has dark plum and cherry notes, but for me, this bottle did not deliver enough balance, depth, or overall enjoyment to score higher.

People looking for an affordable organic red blend who are not expecting a complex wine.

Would I Buy It Again?
No, this would not be a bottle I would go back to.
An Organic Sicilian Red Blend That Fell Short for Me
Buongiorno Terre Siciliane Red Blend is made from 66% Cabernet Sauvignon and 34% Syrah, using organically grown grapes from Sicily. On paper, that sounds like a blend I would usually be interested in. Cabernet can bring structure and dark fruit, while Syrah can add richness, spice, and a little savory depth.
In the glass, the wine showed dark plum and cherry notes, which lined up with the producer’s description. The issue for me was that the wine did not come together in a way that made me want to keep reaching for it. It felt more basic than flavorful, and I did not get the depth or balance I would hope for from a Cabernet and Syrah blend.
I would not call this undrinkable, but I also would not call it a wine I would recommend strongly. It is the kind of bottle that may work better with food than on its own.
What I Would Pair With Buongiorno Terre Siciliane Red Blend
Since this wine did not stand out much on its own, I would pair it with food that can give it more purpose. I would lean toward simple, savory meals rather than anything too delicate or expensive.
Tomato-based pasta is probably the safest direction because the wine’s cherry and plum notes can work with red sauce, meat sauce, sausage, or baked pasta. I would also try it with pizza, grilled sausage, meatballs, or a casual weeknight pasta dinner.
I would not save this for steak night. If I am cooking a really good ribeye, filet, or short ribs, I would choose a more structured and enjoyable red wine.
Best pairings:
Pizza, spaghetti with meat sauce, baked ziti, lasagna, sausage pasta, meatballs, grilled sausage, simple barbecue, and casual tomato-based dishes.
Who Might Like This Wine?
I think this wine is most likely to appeal to someone specifically looking for an organic red blend at an affordable price. If the organic grape certification is important to you, that may be the biggest reason to consider this bottle.
But based on my experience tasting it, I would not recommend this as a standout Sicilian red or as a strong example of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah working together. There are other red blends I would rather buy again.
If you already have a bottle, I would serve it with a casual pasta or pizza night. If you are shopping and looking for a wine that “punches above its weight class,” this would not be one of my top picks.

Our Score: 71 Points
I gave Buongiorno Terre Siciliane Red Blend 71 points because it had some dark plum and cherry character, but it did not have enough balance, depth, or overall enjoyment for me to recommend it strongly. The organic angle is interesting, but the wine itself fell short for my taste.
Real Wine Reviews From Bottles We Actually Drink
My wine reviews are written from the perspective of an everyday wine drinker. I focus on how the wine tastes, what stood out, whether I would buy it again, and what food I think it pairs with best.
For Buongiorno Terre Siciliane Red Blend, the biggest takeaways were the organic grapes, dark plum and cherry notes, and the fact that the wine did not offer enough balance or character for me to score it higher.

This was not a very drinkable wine, even for the price. There are many other wines in this price point that we liked far better than this. This was close to a cheap wine that you would get a a wedding. We would not get this again.
