Our Score
85 Points
Best For
Casual Cabernet drinkers, barbecue nights, grilled food, and weeknight red wine.
Main Flavors
Cherry, chocolate, and hints of vanilla.
Would I Buy It Again?
Possibly, if I wanted an easy Cabernet for casual food pairings.
A Casual California Cabernet With Cherry, Chocolate, and Vanilla
Myles & Moore Cabernet Sauvignon came across as a simple, approachable California Cabernet. The main flavors that stood out were cherry and chocolate, with some vanilla in the background. That combination makes the wine feel smooth and easy to drink rather than especially bold or intense.
This is not the kind of Cabernet I would describe as extremely complex, heavily structured, or built for a special occasion steakhouse dinner. It feels more like a casual red wine that works when you want something dependable with food.
I think this wine makes the most sense for someone who likes California Cabernet but prefers a softer, fruitier, easier-drinking style.
What I Would Pair With Myles & Moore Cabernet Sauvignon
The producer suggests pairing this wine with traditional barbecue or Asian stir-fry, and those pairings make sense to me. The cherry and chocolate notes give the wine enough fruit to work with barbecue sauce, grilled meats, and sweet-savory flavors.
For barbecue, I would pair it with burgers, barbecue chicken, pulled pork, ribs with a sweeter sauce, or grilled sausages. I would be a little more careful with very spicy barbecue because alcohol and tannin can make heat feel stronger.
For stir-fry, I would keep it to beef, pork, or chicken dishes with a slightly sweet or savory sauce rather than a very spicy dish. Teriyaki-style flavors, soy-based sauces, garlic, ginger, and mushrooms would probably work better than heavy chile heat.
Best pairings:
Barbecue chicken, burgers, pulled pork, ribs with sweet sauce, grilled sausages, beef stir-fry, teriyaki chicken, mushroom dishes, and casual grilled meats.
Who Is This Wine Best For?
I think Myles & Moore Cabernet Sauvignon is best for someone who wants a California red wine that is easy to drink and food-friendly. It is not a wine I would recommend for someone looking for a serious, cellar-worthy Cabernet, but that does not seem to be what this bottle is trying to be.
If you like Cabernet with dark fruit, strong tannin, and a long finish, this may feel too simple. If you like smoother Cabernet with cherry, chocolate, and vanilla notes, this should be more in your lane.
I would put this in the category of a casual dinner wine: good enough to enjoy with the right meal, but not a bottle that completely changes your opinion of Cabernet Sauvignon.
Notes From Myles & Moore
Myles & Moore describes its approach as searching for hidden gems in California wine country and working with varietals of strong character. For this Cabernet Sauvignon, the producer points to California’s Central Coast, where warm days and cooler maritime nights help bring out cherry, chocolate, and vanilla flavors.
From my experience with the wine, the cherry, chocolate, and vanilla notes are exactly where the bottle is strongest. It is a straightforward California Cabernet built more around easy drinking than deep complexity.

This is a decent wine for the price point. We would get this again if it was on sale. It’s a good entry-level cab that you can get a most grocery stores.
