Austin Hope Winery Review
Austin Hope was one of the wineries we were most excited to visit in Paso Robles because Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon was already one of our favorite wines back home in Nebraska. The visit absolutely lived up to our expectations. The wines were smooth, polished, fruit-forward, and easy to enjoy young, and the staff made the tasting feel personal even though Austin Hope is such a well-known brand.
Austin Hope Winery at a Glance
Best For
Fans of smooth, fruit-forward Paso Robles reds, Austin Hope Cabernet lovers, and visitors who want a polished but friendly tasting experience.
What Stands Out
The service, the smooth wine style, the outdoor cabana, the deep lineup of Hope Family Wines, and the Syrah we liked enough to buy by the case.
Favorite Discovery
The Syrah was our biggest takeaway because it was not something we could easily buy back home.
Would We Go Back?
Yes. We would definitely visit again and would buy more cases in the future.
A Big-Name Winery That Still Felt Personal
Before visiting, we were a little worried that Austin Hope might feel less personal because the brand is so well known. Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon is a wine we already loved and could find back home, so part of us wondered if the tasting room would feel more corporate or less intimate than some of the smaller wineries in Paso Robles.
That was not the case at all. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, patient, and unassuming. We asked several questions during the tasting, and they took the time to answer them instead of rushing through a scripted pour list.
By the end of the visit, we were very glad we went. We already knew we liked Austin Hope Cabernet, but the tasting helped us discover other wines from Hope Family Wines that we liked just as much, including a Syrah we ended up buying by the case.

Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon is one of our favorite wines, so we just had to visit this place. Our visit was absolutely wonderful and exceeded our very high expectations. Austin Hope was the reason why we visited Paso Robles, and we were happy we did. And bonus, we found a few new wines we liked from there that we aren’t able to get locally, so it was totally worth visiting for us!
