JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery Review
JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery was a must-visit stop on our first trip to Paso Robles because JUSTIN Cabernet Sauvignon was one of the wines that first got us interested in wine. Our tastes have changed over time, but JUSTIN still holds a special place for us, and the estate visit delivered beautiful views, polished wines, and a cave tour experience we would absolutely recommend.
JUSTIN Winery at a Glance
Best For
Fans of JUSTIN Cabernet, Paso Robles red wines, polished tasting experiences, estate views, and cave tours.
What Stands Out
The estate views, smooth reservation process, cave tour and barrel tasting, and the Isosceles 2017.
Favorite Wine
The Isosceles 2017 was our favorite wine from the visit.
Would We Go Back?
Yes, especially for the cave tour, estate experience, or possibly the downtown tasting room next time.
JUSTIN Cabernet Is One of the Wines That Got Us Into Wine
JUSTIN Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the wines that originally got us hooked on wine and made us more interested in learning about what we were drinking. Because of that, our first trip to Paso Robles had to include a visit to JUSTIN.
JUSTIN Cabernet is no longer one of our absolute favorite wines, mostly because our tastes have changed and we have tried a lot more wine since then. But I still think it is a solid entry-level Cabernet Sauvignon at a reasonable price, especially for guests who are newer to wine.
It is also an easy wine to share because it is widely available. If friends come over, enjoy the bottle, and want to buy it themselves later, they can usually find it without much trouble.
A Smooth, Beautiful Estate Tasting Experience
We visited JUSTIN with our aunt and uncle, so there were four of us for the tasting. Making reservations ahead of time was easy, and everything went smoothly once we arrived.
We visited in March, which turned out to be a great time of year. The weather was perfect, and it was not yet too hot outside to enjoy red wine outdoors. That made the estate experience even better because the views and outdoor setting are a big part of the appeal.
The wine and views were both fantastic. JUSTIN has a more polished feel than some smaller Paso Robles wineries, but it still felt like a worthwhile stop because of the setting, the history we have with the brand, and the overall tasting experience.

Our Favorite Wine Was the Isosceles 2017
The wine that stood out most to us during the visit was the Isosceles 2017. JUSTIN is already well known for Cabernet Sauvignon, but Isosceles felt like the more memorable wine from the tasting.
If you are already familiar with the regular JUSTIN Cabernet and want to try something that feels like a step up, Isosceles is the bottle I would pay attention to during the tasting.
The Cave Tour and Barrel Tasting Are Worth Doing
We also did the cave tour and barrel tasting, and I highly recommend adding that to your visit if it is available. It made the experience feel more complete than a standard tasting because we got to see more of the winery and taste in a different setting.
At the time, the cave tour and barrel tasting was listed at $150 for non-members and $120 for members. That is not inexpensive, but for the experience, we thought it was a fantastic add-on.
If you are already making the trip out to the estate, this is the kind of tasting experience that makes the visit feel more memorable.

I Might Try the Downtown Paso Location Next Time
Next time, I may try the tasting at JUSTIN’s downtown Paso Robles location. We typically stay downtown when we visit Paso, and that location looks very nice.
The estate is worth visiting for the views and full winery feel, but the downtown tasting room could be a great option if you want something easier to work into a Paso Robles weekend without driving out to the estate.

Real Winery Reviews From Our Own Visits
My winery reviews are based on places we have personally visited. I focus on the full experience, including the setting, tasting room, service, wines, prices, and whether I would recommend the winery to other everyday wine drinkers.
For JUSTIN, the biggest takeaways were the personal connection to the Cabernet Sauvignon, the beautiful estate setting, the Isosceles 2017, and the cave tour and barrel tasting experience.
