About Vina Robles Winery
The first vineyard planted in 1997 and Vina Robles was established in 1998 by Hans Nef. Unfortunately, Hans tragically passed away in 2019, but his family continues his legacy and dream of creating world-class wines. Currently Vina Robles consists of 6 vineyards, a bistro, club lounge and a beautiful outdoor amphitheatre where they regularly have concerts. Every vineyard is Sustainability in Practice (SIP) certified. Vina Robles uses traditional as well as modern winemaking methods to create world class white and red wines from Paso Robles.
“I want Vina Robles to express a unique balance of European heritage and American opportunity. As individuals, we are rooted in the Old World. As viticulturists and winemakers, we are empowered by the New World.” – Founder Hans Nef
Vina Robles Winery Review
The property is truly beautiful from the minute you get out of the car. There is a large patio area next to a large fountain when you first walk up to the building. The tasting room building is very nice and refined, with a quiet and sophisticated atmosphere. The staff was all extremely friendly, helpful and accomodating. We all did a tasting and also ordered some food from the bistro. We ordered the crab cakes, house truffle chips and the Vina Robles Burger. The burger was the best thing we had, and although it was pretty expensive we rated it a 10. Which is a pretty high rating considering we are from Nebraska!
We enjoyed several of their wines, but the rose and zinfandel stood out to us the most. The Rosé in particular really stood out because we all really liked it, and we usually don’t like rose as much as other types of wine. We didn’t order any wine, but that isn’t because we didn’t like it. But we can actually buy their wine back in Nebraska, so we didn’t want to pay the shipping charges on the wine when we can get it locally. And we will definitely be buying some of their wines at home.

Insider Tip: We didn’t get a chance to tour the amphitheatre because it was closed. We recommend trying to attend a concert there, so you can enjoy that space and their wines at the same time. The entire property is just beautiful and definitely worth visiting.
